I joined the Centre for Rural and Northern Health Research as a Research Assistant in January 2008.

I received my Bachelor of Arts (Hons), Combined Specialization in Sociology and Law & Justice from Laurentian University in 2004. I have recently completed my Master of Public Health at Lakehead University, located in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Prior to joining CRaNHR, I had 3 years progressive experience in a research assistant capacity in a variety of social and health related projects dealing with the working poor in the Sudbury District, women's health in northern Ontario and workplace wellness initiatives for City of Greater Sudbury employees. I have assisted with data entry and analysis, survey development and administration and other research support duties while working at the municipal level and public health unit.

My role here at CRaNHR is mainly focussed on the Multi-Year Tracking Study of the Students and Graduates of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine as well as providing support and assistance with the project "Assessing the Impact of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) on Underserved Communities of Northern Ontario: Impact on Physician Recruitment and Retention Activities". I also assist with data entry and coordinate university students and co-op students with a variety of research related tasks, such as transcribing.

When not busy with CRaNHR activities, I am a volunteer Community Food Advisor through the Sudbury & District Health Unit, where I facilitate cooking demonstrations and promote safe and nutritious food selection, preparation and storage practices to Sudbury area residents. In addition, I am a published poet in the newly established Laurentian University's English Arts Society Literary Journal.
